Where Your Junk Goes

Which landfills and drop-off sites serve Anne Arundel and Prince George’s County, and what to confirm before you haul anything yourself.

Short answer

Each county in our service area runs its own disposal facilities, and each one accepts waste from its own residents and businesses. That is why your address decides where a load can legally go, and why we ask for it with every quote.

This guide was compiled in October 2026 from county web pages. Hours, fees and closures change, so confirm with the county before you drive a load yourself.

Anne Arundel County

The Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility, at 389 Burns Crossing Road in Severn, is the county’s only operating municipal solid waste facility. It accepts commercial and residential waste from Anne Arundel County businesses and residents only, and fees apply to some loads. County landfill information.

The county also runs three residential drop-off recycling centers: Northern at 100 Dover Road NE in Glen Burnie, Central next to the landfill, and Southern at 5400 Nutwell Sudley Road in Deale. They are for county residents’ recyclables and certain materials, not for full cleanouts.

Household hazardous waste, such as paint, chemicals and similar products, is handled through the county’s scheduled drop-off days for residents rather than the regular trash stream.

Prince George’s County

The Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill, at 11611 White House Road in Upper Marlboro, is owned by the county and accepts material from county residents and local businesses only. The Brown Station Road Convenience Center is at 3501 Brown Station Road, and trailers are not permitted there. County landfill information.

In the county information we reviewed, the landfill’s household hazardous waste and e-waste acceptance sites were closed for construction, with those items directed to the convenience center. Check the county page for the current status.

Why your address matters

A load from a Bowie driveway and a load from an Annapolis driveway cannot go to the same facility. When you request a quote, the address tells us which county’s rules apply and how the load has to be planned.

It also tells us about access: stairs, long carries, gates and parking all affect the job. See our pricing page for how estimates are built.

What to keep out of the pile

Paint, chemicals, fuel, propane tanks and unknown liquids need separate handling. Keep them out of the junk pile and tell us about them when you request a quote, so nothing is discovered on moving day. For items we can take, browse our services.
